N-UASB (Neo-Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket)

N-UASB (Neo-Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket)

Upflow anaerobic sludge blanket treatment system that decomposes organic matter into methane gas and CO2 in the short time using granules(anaerobes).

  • Advantages
  • System flow
  • Applications
  • Example case
  • 1. Significantly reduces excess sludge disposal costs

    • Because the sludge generation rate is low compared with the aerobic treatment method, N-UASB can reduce excess sludge disposal costs.

  • 2. Reduces electrical power consumption

    • Unlike the activated sludge method which uses aerobic bacteria, the N-UASB method doesn’t require oxygen and aeration power. Therefore, it needs less power consumption and makes it possible to operate in low costs.

  • 3. Treatment of high concentration wastewater

    • It was impossible to directly reduce high concentration CODcr by more than 90% from 40,000 mg / L in the short time before, but N-UASB makes it possible.

  • 4. Low-cost and space-saving

    • Super high loading treatment - CODcr volume loading 30 kg / m3・day-, can be made, therefore it realizes the space-saving of the system. Moreover, it is a low-cost treatment, so you can save on expenses of operation.

  • 5. Recycling of methane gas

    • Because 70% of organic matter changes to methane gas by collecting gas, it can be used as fuel for boilers, etc.
